Alberto Lazzarino is the principal winemaker at Banfi Piemonte, a position he has held since 2002.

Prior to joining Banfi Piemonte, Alberto was appointed as Head of Production at Cantina Sociale of Maranzana (Asti, Piemonte) in 1994, and role which quickly evolved to include duties as Head of Safety of Employees and Manager of Quality.

One of his first experiences was at the Fratelli Martini cellar, followed by employment at Bersano winery, where he gained invaluable experience in the vinification and bottling of typical Piemontese wines, such as Barbera, Barolo, Barbaresco, and Gavi.

Born in Turin, Italy, Mr. Lazzarino graduated from the Agricultural University of Alba, one of the world’s leading enological schools. Earning his degree there required six years of study, including a two-year internship at a local winery, where he became versed in all phases of the winemaking process.
